The "Soma" Drama Club for the adults

People from Feketic are cheerful, happy and they are very fond of humor. Maybe that is why our theatre company mostly plays funny plays. However one of our best performance wasn ot a funny play, it was a drama from István Tömörkény and the title was "Barlanglakók" (Cave dwellers). The Soma- this has been our name for more then ten years and our members are all amateurs- participated in VMASZ the Contest of Amateur Thetres in Vojvodina) every year where the "Barlanglakók" was awarded for best director, best supporting actor and the most beautiful speech.

There is a wide scale of age among the members. The youngest is 19 years old while the oldest is 70 years old. Members aged from 40 to 50 are the spine of the theatre company. Many people come and go because of their duties but we still exist.

The first director soon after our formation was Vera Toth. After her there was a new director Jeno Ferenc, then Tibor Vajda tried to lead our theatre company. Eva Kasza helped us many times during her lifetime. At the moment Péter Merkva is the director. He tries to bring back the vanished moments from lost world to the spectators.

Fortunately people from Feketic like to go to the theatre so there is a demand for plays and that is the most important thing.
