Sziporka "Sparkles" folk dance group

The youngest children aged 5 to 8 can also participate in the cultural life of our village. They are grouped in the folk dance group called "Sziporka" and lead by Eszter Pál they play folk games. They have performances as well, presenting what they know not only in local festival and carnivals but also traveling to the Annual Meeting of the Hungarian Folk Traditions where they meet their peers. In the spring of 2003 this group of 22 members successfully participated at the contest thanks to Csilla Gogolák who worked with them at that time. In Becse they won 3rd prize at the "Koketánc" Contest of Children's Folk games, songs and dances presenting their compilation of games from Pest County. Two girls, Noémi Török and Eniko Perlaki took part in the "Szólj síp, szólj!" Contest of Folk Music in the category of solo singing and came home with 2nd prizes from Novi Sad.

At this age group not only success motivates them. Games, the joy of playing together makes them happy. Their leader, Eszter Pál aims at forwarding them the love of folk traditions, the importance of community feeling and to let them feel that they also belong to a warm and loving group.
